In 1992, Jim Ross was the first to publish a Route 66 guidebook devoted exclusively to the Sooner State. It was called "Oklahoma Route 66: The Cruiser's Companion" and helped many a fledgling 66 road warrior find their way across the state. Almost immediately, Jim began collecting materials for a more complete guide.
In 2001, in time for the 75th Anniversary of Route 66, he published Oklahoma Route 66. It contained a wealth of information about the various alignments and their dates, detailed maps, and a multitude of historical photos and postcards. Many of the photos came from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation and had never seen before.
In late 2011, building on the foundation laid with the first edition of Oklahoma Route 66, Jim Ross has released Oklahoma Route 66 - Second Edition. This updated volume, in full color, contains many new images, color-coded maps, and everything you would expect from the top authority on Oklahoma’s Mother Road.
Oklahoma Route 66 - Second Edition is a must for any 66er's shelf - and glove compartment! From Ghost Town Press, Arcadia, Oklahoma.
