Bones
of the Old
Road
It seems that every video produced about Route
66 sticks to the most familiar, easy-to-find sections of the Mother Road. "Bones
of the Old Road" breaks outside of that comfort zone and carries viewers to five
little known, head-scratchingly difficult to locate sections of Route 66 in four
different states.
Segments of old highway featured include the Jericho Gap in Texas, Bridgeport
Bypass in Oklahoma, Road Maze at Arlington in Missouri, and Cuervo Cutoff and La
Bajada Hill in New Mexico. Road experts Jim Ross and Jerry McClanahan not only
guide viewers but explain the research involved in uncovering the exact pathway
of these elusive alignments.
As a bonus, there is an illustrated, fold-out map tucked inside, so cruisers
can find these hard-to-find sections on their own. The map does not duplicate
information contained "Here It Is: The Route 66 Map Series," as the "Map Series"
covers the basic and easiest routings. Running Time: 1 hour 20 minutes.
